Top 5 Best Portable Printers in 2025
We tested the best portable printers for printing anywhere

You need a small, reliable portable printer when you need to print from your mobile office or while traveling. Fortunately, there are many printers that are portable, and four of the greatest are located right here.
In my capacity as senior printer editor, I have evaluated more than two hundred of the top small business and home printers, including some top-notch portable printers from brands like Brother, Canon, Epson, and HP. Each entry’s key statistics and a synopsis are provided in this guide. For further information, you can click through to the complete evaluations.
I will spend two days comparing every aspect of the product—from build and design to usability, price, and print quality—before assigning an overall rating. The Epson WorkForce WF-110 is my choice for the finest portable printer overall, although each item on this list has advantages. It seems to me to have the necessary features at the correct cost, and it prints nicely while in travel.

1. HP OfficeJet 250
An all-in-one portable inkjet printer is the HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer. It is compatible with the high-yield HP 62XL High Yield Black and HP 62XL High Yield Tri-Color cartridges It employs a two-cartridge system with HP 62 Black and HP 62 Tri-Color ink cartridges. Its ADF scanner is present, however it lacks a flatbed scanner. USB, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct are among its connectivity choices; it can print straight from external USB devices, such as hard drives, and it supports Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint. Lastly, it works with the HP Smart App, which enables you to do things like print or scan, change the scan’s color and contrast, and get more ink for your device.
For family use, the HP OfficeJet 250 is a good choice. It produces high-quality black and color prints. It also features an ADF scanner, but sadly, it cannot automatically scan or print double-sided pages, and scans come out skewed since the paper guide doesn’t feed sheets into the scanner correctly. If you print regularly, you’ll need to replace the ink cartridges often because page yields are low. If you don’t print frequently, you run the risk of clogging, which requires more maintenance. Lastly, there are numerous connectivity choices, such as Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint support.
An all-in-one portable inkjet printer is the HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer. This printer outperforms comparable portable printers in terms of print and scan quality, while having a poor page yield and relatively few functions. It prints great black and color documents and features an ADF scanner that delivers decent (although slanted) scans. Just be aware that it prints quite slowly. You’ll probably run out of ink before you run out of battery because of its good battery life.

2. Canon Pixma TR150
The Pixma TR150 Wireless Portable Printer from Canon ($199.99) is a small, lightweight color inkjet printer that is mainly intended for printing color documents while traveling. The Pixma iP110 Wireless Mobile Printer, which was evaluated here as an Editor’s Choice in June 2015, has been replaced by the TR150. The TR150 prints nicely at a rather good speed and has competitive running expenses when compared to its closest rivals, which include the 2016 HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer and the 2018 HP Tango X, two PCMag top picks from the Palo Alto information technology behemoth. With these extra benefits, the Pixma TR150 easily wins our Editors’ Choice award for best portable printer of 2020.
The Pixma TR150 is the same size and girth as its predecessor, the iP100, measuring 2.6 by 7.3 by 12.7 inches (HWD) with its trays closed and weighing 4.5 pounds (or 5.1 pounds with the $99.99 battery attached). While the HP Tango X, the only device here without a battery for untethered operation, is noticeably larger in every way and weighs a few of pounds more than the TR150, it is also less than an inch smaller and a fraction of a pound lighter than the HP OfficeJet 200 and the Epson WorkForce WF-110.
Naturally, the printer isn’t really portable without the supplementary battery because it requires an AC or USB power supply to operate. Although the HP and Epson of the four really portable devices—the Pixma TR150, Pixma iP110, HP OfficeJet 200, and Epson WF-110—come with free batteries, the business also provides an extra external power pack for the WorkForce portable that can print up to 500 pages. (The accompanying battery cannot be removed; it is preinstalled.) As previously stated, the TR150’s battery costs roughly $100 and takes two to three hours to charge, according to Canon.

3. Epson WorkForce EC-C110
The WorkForce EC-C110 Wireless Mobile Color Printer from Epson is a compact, lightweight color mobile printer that fits in purses and briefcases and is ideal for people who need worry-free printing while on the road. Its 1.4″ color LCD and control panel allow you to print at resolutions up to 5760 x 1440 from nearly any location using your laptop, iOS or Android device, and more, thanks to the convenience of USB, Wi-Fi 4 (802.11b/g/n), and Wi-Fi Direct access. One black cartridge and one tri-tone CMY cartridge are included. Up to 6.7 ISO ppm can be achieved with the black cartridge and up to 3.8 ISO ppm with the color cartridge.
A 4 x 6″ borderless print may be finished in 77 seconds. Prints can be printed with or without borders. The WorkForce EC-C110 is compatible with both Mac and Windows and can be charged in up to 2.5 hours using either its internal lithium-ion battery or AC power. Up to 100 black or 50 color prints can be produced on a single charge.
Compact and Light Mobile Color Printer
With its extra auxiliary battery, the WorkForce EC-C110 is still small and light.
Integrated Battery
In a compact design, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides reliable performance. You may print using AC power or charge using USB and an AC adaptor.
Available External Accessory Battery
An extra accessory battery is offered for an even higher print volume.

4. HP LaserJet Pro M15w
This is the smallest printer in the world, and it will easily fit in your cabin luggage, whereas inkjet printers are often larger and heavier.
Because HP has completely stripped this monochrome, print-only device, it is also the least expensive. Although it lacks a monitor and auto-duplex mode, it does have built-in Wi-Fi, and I found that printing using the HP Smart app was very simple. Because laser printing uses more energy, it is powered by the mains instead of a battery.
On paper of any size up to letter or A4, the benefit is a quick print rate and dependably clear pages of text. It is no taller than the typical smartphone and has a footprint that is just slightly bigger than a sheet of letter paper when the input and output trays are folded away neatly.
The single black toner, which costs about £45 (US$50, AU$80), takes up a lot of internal space. As a result, your ongoing print costs only 4.5p per page, which is better than any other portable printers.

5. HP Sprocket Studio
I must commend Epson for condensing all the components of a high-quality desktop printer into a compact device that can be carried in a briefcase. After installing the four smaller-than-normal ink cartridges, the Epson WorkForce WF-110 was simple to use and performed well.
Up to 5,760 x 1,440 dpi, it produces smudge-resistant pages by using pigment ink rather than dye-based ink. The outcomes appear clear and vibrant on a variety of surfaces, including coated photo paper. When unfurled, the plastic body transforms into a paper input tray that can accommodate up to twenty sheets of letter-sized plain paper. The plastic case is textured for better grip.
With the included charger, the lithium-ion battery can be charged quickly. Alternatively, it can be charged more gradually by using the included USB cable to connect to any powered USB port. Unsurprisingly, the Epson WorkForce WF-110 lacks an auto-duplex mode and prints slowly, with a maximum speed of 7 ppm. However, the quality and convenience of totally mobile wireless printing are difficult to match.
