Our top choice for the majority of folks is the Samsung S90C. With full 4K 120Hz and variable frame rate game graphics across all four of its HDMIs, it offers an extensive array of connectivity options and gaming compatibility. Additionally, it features Samsung’s Neural Quantum 4K engine, which employs 20 neural networks to improve the way the TV handles incoming inputs. One of these improvements is the ability to better upscale HD and SD video to the screen’s native 4K quality.
Here, the visual quality is incredibly brilliant, giving you images with lots of contrast. With four HDMI 2.1 connectors that support VRR (with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro), ALLM, and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, the S95D is also a great gaming partner. Additionally, it includes Samsung’s helpful Gaming Hub, which centralizes all gaming capabilities.
Another highlight is the design, which has a sleek, contemporary appearance and seems to “float” because of its distinctive stand design. The Tizen smart TV system and integrated audio also contribute to the S95D’s excellence.
Naturally, a TV of this kind is expensive, but the S95D is well worth the investment if you have extra cash.
3. Samsung Q60D
With a QLED panel for brighter, more colorful images, a respectable number of smart features, cloud gaming choices, and an attractive design at a reasonable price, the Samsung Q60D is the greatest value TV in the company’s 2024 TV portfolio.
Even when comparing the Q60D to more expensive Samsung TVs like the S95D and QN90D, we were astonished by how well the details and textures appeared. Its color, which we thought had “plenty of punch while also maintaining a natural look,” especially struck us. Although shadows did take on a gray wash with dimmer images, the Q60D’s Dual LED technology also produced good black levels and contrast for the price range.
Although the Q60D lacks 4K 120Hz and VRR support, which are capabilities seen in more advanced Samsung TVs, it does support ALLM and cloud gaming choices from Xbox, Luna, and other companies. It also boasts an extremely low input latency time of 9.6 ms. The Q60D will not let gamers in the bedroom down.
Its attractive design, which includes a trim bezel and slim profile, gives it a more expensive appearance than you may anticipate for this price. The Q60D is still a fantastic, cost-effective choice and the best inexpensive Samsung TV overall, despite its weak sound and fierce competition from low-cost mini-LEDs like the Hisense U6N and U7N.
4. Samsung Q80D
For a few years now, the Samsung Q80 series has been the undiscovered treasure in the company’s wide array of TV models, providing a nearly comprehensive set of features and performance at a reasonably priced, mid-range pricing. The Q80D is no exception.
Although the QLED screen used by the Q80D occasionally produces uneven contrast and black levels (particularly when compared to mini-LED and OLED), the Q80D did not have this problem throughout our testing. By preventing the gray ‘wash’ that occasionally befalls LED and QLED TVs, we discovered that it provides rich contrast and precise, effective black levels. The colors of the Q80D are also sharp, vivid, and accurate (albeit with little adjustment). In terms of picture quality, the Q80D performs better than its competitors at a mid-range pricing.
With four HDMI 2.1 connectors that support 4K, 120Hz, VRR (including AMD FreeSync Premium), ALLM, and the always helpful Samsung Game Hub, the Q80D is also well-suited for gaming. We recorded an incredibly low input lag time of 9.8 ms, which is comparable to some of the most expensive mini-LED and OLED sets available.
The only significant shortcomings of the Q80D are that it lacks the premium sleek design of other Samsung models and has some fading of contrast when viewed off-axis, but even the built-in sound quality is surprisingly good overall. Once more, the Q80D is a hidden gem that is expected to become a popular mid-range alternative in 2024.
5. Samsung QN900D
A premium experience is offered by the Samsung QN900D. It receives a five-star rating in our assessment because of its great details, full suite of gaming features, luxury design, and successful 8K upscaling, which go beyond what comparable 4K TVs can do. However, the price increase is significant.
The QN900D’s stunning textures and details, which have a lifelike appearance, are what you notice right away. This is owed to its Real Depth Enhancer Pro AI feature, that sharpens images to this lifelike condition, along with its outstanding 8K upscaling, providing 4K sources that added depth. When watching sports, it also offers excellent motion control, vibrant colors, and deep contrast. With its image, the QN900D truly does it all.
You would expect a top-notch gaming experience at this level, and the QN900D delivers. In addition to its four fully functional HDMI 2.1 ports—which support 4K, 120Hz, VRR (including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro), and ALLM—it also boasts a model-only feature: a 240Hz refresh rate for PC gaming. The acclaimed Samsung Game Hub, which gives access to a large selection of cloud gaming apps, is another feature.
The primary weakness of the QN900D is, of course, its cost. You’ll have to pay a significant premium for all these features and an 8K panel—at least twice as much as the most expensive 4K Neo QLED set—but if you can afford it, the QN900D is well worth the money.
Finding the ideal Samsung TV for you isn’t always simple because there are so many models available. Here are some important factors we believe you should take into account before delving into each model’s specific specifications.
The budget comes first. If you find the ideal TV or a fantastic deal during the Black Friday sales, you may be able to increase your spending restriction a bit.
